Stainless steel butterfly valves are suitable for LNG  

According to the low temperature characteristics of LNG, stainless steel butterfly valve should be used for LNG.  Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas after compression, cooling to its boiling point (minus 161.5 degrees Celsius) temperature into liquid, usually liquefied natural gas stored in minus 161.5 degrees Celsius, 0.1mpa low temperature storage tank, with special ship or tanker transport, used for re-gasification.  

Since the boiling point of LIQUEFIED natural gas is minus 161.5 degrees Celsius, the material used for stainless steel butterfly valve must also be able to be used for a long time in the environment of minus 161.5 degrees Celsius, without any problems.  According to this requirement, combined with the performance of 304 stainless steel, we will know that 304 stainless steel butterfly valve can be used in LNG.  

According to relevant data, 304 stainless steel can be used in the low temperature environment of minus 196 degrees Celsius.  304 stainless steel is a brand of stainless steel produced in accordance with the American ASTM standard, 304 is equivalent to China's 0Cr18Ni9 (old brand), the new brand is 06Cr19Ni10, the relevant data please refer to GB/T 20878-2007.  304 stainless steel belongs to chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel, containing 19% chromium and 8-10% nickel.  

Stainless steel butterfly valve should be three eccentric butterfly valve with metal seal, body material SS304, valve plate SS304, stem SS304, sealing ring SS304, stem outside the need to weld a 304 stainless steel sleeve, used to protect the stem.  

The main component of LIQUEFIED natural gas is methane, the normal pressure boiling point is -161℃, the critical temperature is -84℃, the critical pressure is 4.1mpa, its manufacturing process is to purify the natural gas produced in the gas field, after a series of ultra-low temperature liquefaction, the use of LNG ship transport.  After burning the air pollution is very small, and the release of heat, colorless, tasteless, non-toxic and non-corrosive, is recognized as the cleanest energy on the earth.
