Affect beer quality
Apr 01, 2024| 1. Oxygen
Oxygen, or air, will "oxidize" the beer after contact with the beer, and oxidation will accelerate the aging of the beer and taste decline. For beer OXYGENISTHEENEMY, oxygen is arguably the bigger enemy. At this stage, it is impossible to achieve complete zero oxygen content, and it is difficult to avoid more or less touching a small amount of oxygen, and the interference of oxidation will gradually show up over time.
Specific effect on taste
o Smell of wet cardboard, cardboard
o Smell of wax
o Weakened hop aroma
2. High temperature
Temperature is also one of the main culprits of aging beer, beer should be refrigerated as much as possible (2-3°C). According to the 3-30-300 principle proposed by CharliePapazian(founder of the American Brewers Association), beer is stored at different temperatures and the degree of disturbance to beer varies. In the winter room temperature, the barrel beer is placed at room temperature for a few days or even a week, and the interference to the beer is basically invisible, but in high temperature weather, a barrel of wine can be destroyed in just one day. The increase in temperature will also cause the pressure inside the package to rise, causing the takeout packaging container to break.
3. Light
Light will also cause bad interference to the taste of beer, if exposed to the specified wavelength of light, such as fluorescent lamps, sunlight, will form a odor, usually called this bad smell "daylight odor" somewhat similar to the smell of skunk, conditions allow please try to avoid light storage.
According to beer, a good takeout package should be able to block light, less dissolved oxygen, and need to be refrigerated.
