Uses Of Stainless Steel Sight Glasses
Jun 08, 2024| Sight glass is used in industrial production equipment such as petroleum, chemical industry, chemical fiber, medicine, food, etc. It can observe the flow reaction of liquid, gas, steam and other media at any time, and is an indispensable accessory to ensure normal production.
The main technical parameters:
1. Shell material: carbon steel, stainless steel (SUS304, SUS304L, SUS316, SUS316L), fluorine lining, plastic (PP, PVC, etc.).
2. Material of the neck-mounted equipment sight glass window: soda-lime glass, borosilicate glass, quartz glass.
3. Working temperature:
The maximum allowable temperature of soda-lime glass is 150°C, and the range of sharp temperature changes is 120°C to 20°C.
The maximum allowable temperature of borosilicate glass is 280°C, and the sharp temperature change range is 230°C to 20°C.
The maximum allowable temperature of quartz glass is 800°C, and the sharp temperature change range is 550°C to 20°C.
4. Operating pressure of sight glass with neck device: soda-lime glass: 0.6Mpa.
5. Borosilicate glass: 0.6~1.0Mpa.
6. Quartz glass: 0.6~2.5Mpa.
7. Sealing ring material: polytetrafluoroethylene, oil-resistant asbestos, nitrile rubber, etc.
8. Flange standards: GB, HG, SH, HGJ, JB, ANSL, JIS and other standards. (User specified, please indicate pressure level)
9. Manufacturing and testing standards: Design, manufacture and acceptance based on "HGJ501-86 Pressure Vessel Sight Glass".
Precautions for users of neck-mounted equipment sight glasses:
1. Sight mirror installation: The welding flange must be clean and not damaged, and must be operated by professionals.
2. Installation of the sight glass lens. Make sure the sight glass holder is flat and smooth. The sealing gasket between the lens and the sight glass holder is installed smoothly. The sealing gasket is not damaged and does not stick to grease. Make sure the sight glass base and cover are installed correctly before tightening the screws, and then tighten the screws slowly.
3. Before working on hinged or threaded sight glass devices, make sure the sealing gasket is properly installed. If necessary, retighten the bolts. Make sure that the gasket between the sight hole and the sight glass hole is installed correctly, that the connecting flange is not damaged, and that the connecting screws are adjusted properly. Make sure not only that the components connected to the sight glass lens are well sealed, but also that the seals between the sight glass and the welding flange are good, and that the pressure inside the container does not exceed the rated pressure.
4. Do not put any additional pressure on the sight glass after installation, otherwise it will cause uneven stress on the sight glass and cause the sight glass to break.
